SIWOK is the Wichi Indian name for the red-crested woodpecker.



Their way of life in Northern Argentina as hunter/gatherers is threatened by our civilisation. They carve and polish beautiful birds and household goods in four scented local hard woods, thus they can continue to live in their own homes. Traidcraft 30th Birthday Celebrations
Beleive it or not Traidcraft have been trading fairly for 30 years! The products and the relationships with producers have come a long way since then. But the work of helping people work their way out of poverty remains the focus of the organisation. Help them celebrate during Traidcraft Week from 21st June.
